DEAN KAMEN – forgotten genius

DEAN KAMEN – he’s alive!

Some time ago I became fascinated by the story of a man who I thought was dead. And this is how my knowledge of him would have ended if not for the notes I found in one of my notebooks from years ago. I just wrote his name, followed by two exclamation marks… that’s all. And because before throwing away the review of my notebooks – I came across these notes. I decided to check why I wrote this.

I went online.. It turns out that someone made a very unhealthy fuss around Dean Kamen, spreading a rumor that the alleged creator of the Segway – died on his own invention.

The power of the rumor was unbelievable. And because Dean is a modest man and completely unpopular with the media – he was simply forgotten by many. Meanwhile, he continued his work. The Sageway is just one of his inventions. Not the most important thing.

In fact, he made a number of other, much more significant inventions. Belong to them:
– automatic syringe for diabetic patients
– portable kidney dialysis machine
– a wheelchair with a robot function
– a robotic arm for amputees
– and finally my personal favorite invention – the Slingshot, a water treatment device.

The latter invention makes it possible to recover water practically from wastewater in every region of the world.
We all know Who is Elon Musk Bill Gates, Steve Jobs. And why is there no mention of Dean Kamen. He is a man of no lesser size. Meanwhile, almost completely unknown.

His philosophy of life is to help others solve the most important problems in the world. Below is a quote from his words:

„I think somebody, that’s a really big person – is somebody, that doesn’t mind helping everybody else around them. A really big person helps everybody else be big and doesn’t use their bigness to keep everybody else small.”

I have included a link to the video below. It’s really worth watching.
