Too much study does not bear fruit. It is like sowing in a field. Every seed is like a thought … like an idea – it needs time and space to bear fruit. The grain must not interfere with the grain. Get a good understanding of what you are learning – then take a step further and learn the next thing. Without good understanding and practicing it, you will quickly forget it.
It is the ability to use knowledge that is of real value – not the knowledge itself. There are people who know a lot but don’t do anything about it. There are people who know much, much less, but who know how to use knowledge. The former are often admired, but that is where it all ends. The latter are effective – and that’s what it’s all about.
There is real value in applying knowledge and not forgetting it. In order for it to be so – you have to look around intensively and look for different places and situations where the new knowledge can be useful. BE PERSISTENT IN THIS.
I remembered today how we once missed a lesson at school. I went to high school and were in electrical engineering classes. Our poor teacher even looked for us on the tram. Those he met – he encouraged them to come back. I remember what he told us then: „Gentlemen, you will not achieve anything in life without self-discipline.” To this day, I remember the way in which he emphasized the word „self-discipline”. He himself has achieved a great deal through hard work. He was the chief electrician of one of the biggest steel mill in Poland. Then, ….years later, I found out that he liked Tolstoy as much as I did.
There only two of us returned to classes on a summer afternoon. The teacher finished his lesson …. and we went home. I don’t remember or what the classes were, but I have not forgotten what he told us when he found us. I have always had great respect for this man – for his knowledge, diligence and personal culture. His name was Jerzy Stephan.
Reading Brian Tracy and his self-discipline advice – I recall one of the lesson statements I was given ……. Thank you ! It still helps me a lot in my life.

Dobrze zrozum to, czego siÄ™ uczysz – a dopiero potem zrób krok dalej i ucz siÄ™ kolejnej rzeczy.
PrzypomniaÅ‚o mi siÄ™ dzisiaj, jak uciekliÅ›my kiedyÅ› z lekcji w szkole Å›redniej. ChodziÅ‚em do szkoÅ‚y technicznej i byÅ‚y to zajÄ™cia z elektrotechniki. Nasz biedny nauczyciel szukaÅ‚ nas nawet w tramwaju.
Nauczyciel dokoÅ„czyÅ‚ swojÄ… lekcjÄ™ …. i poszliÅ›my do domu.
CzytajÄ…c Briana Tracy i jego porad dotyczÄ…cych samodyscypliny – przypominam sobie o jednej z najważniejszych lekcji, jakich mi udzielono…….DziÄ™kujÄ™ ! Wciąż bardzo mi to pomaga w życiu.
