Does the fact that something didn’t work out mean it’s not worth playing the melody to the end?
No, …I don’t think so.
If you’ve ever played an instrument, you know how many times you’ve made a mistake at the very beginning of a piece, in the middle, …and sometimes even at the very end (even though it was going so well).
And this after so many rehearsals,
and so many performances.
And you feel as if you were starting all over again.
As if you’d never learned anything at all.
But if you truly loved playing, you kept playing regardless.
And you listen to the sounds that you yourself play.
Because even though the entire piece wasn’t perfect, certain parts of it were beautiful.
And you listened to those parts with delight.
And after the mistake, you knew you didn’t have to try so hard.
And that’s when you were at your most relaxed.
And you found true joy in your playing – even if only in those small fragments.
And that’s when something happened that you could only describe with the word: „HOLINESS.”
It’s the same in life – so keep playing your melody.
And one day you’ll understand that everything is exactly as it should be…
